Doesn't Recommend
No opinion of CEO

Pros

Good proceedures present in the management database. Collaborative work leading to synergy in efforts were encouraged. Client interaction was promoted.

Cons

Way too much gossiping and managemnet listening to opne side of the story only. Vert top down approach of leadership.

Advice to Management

More senior managemnt efforts should be expended in staff morale boosing and development. More external courses should be approved by management.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Large, complex interesting projects are a big plus.

    Cons

Day to day project managment is a nightmare, using multiple databases for billing, timesheets and expenses, and proposals hides opportunities to network and brainstorm.

    Advice to Management

Measurable metrics for employees to obtain rather than fuzzy concept for improvement (not measurable, interpretive) for employess would provide a clear goal towards raises and advancement.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Saskatoon, SK (Canada)
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Saskatoon, SK (Canada)

    Pros

    -Consistent work schedule
    -DDO program
    -Decent RRSP program
-Opportunity to take on large amounts of responsibility (although sometimes when it's inappropriate)

    Cons

-No incidental costs will be reimbursed by the company, i.e. parking, professional registration, social club, etc.
-You often have to be moved to a different workstation, generally twice a year; this often results in a downgraded work environment that is justified as "the nature of the job", and generally results in a drop of morale
-There are no bonuses for non-management
-There is a "reactive" management perception in terms of dealing with competition, where they will not budge until someone else is willing to pay you more. Wage increases are generally not performance based.
-Little effort is placed on retention; see above point.
-There is heavy reliance on a dated bureaucratic structure that requires many levels of approvals for wage or classification changes (including approval all the way in Britain) that results in the competition often drawing people away before a decision can be made.

    Advice to Management

The nature of the industry is changing, and swaying away from the perception that "employees should just be happy the have a job." Consider embracing more of an employee-focused perception, while recognizing that tangible rewards are appreciated.
