I worked at Amedisys full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Flexible schedule. Starts out good.

Cons

At one time the company was great. East coast job was better than west. When the upper management out West did not listen to the ways of the East my contract expired. The company lacks professional courtesy and respect of people who have been there for many years. They don't listen or do exit interviews.

Advice to Management

When you respect people they will respect you.

    Pros

    Corporate Management is visionary and stimulating. Strong commitment to ethics. EMR excellent with constant improvements integrating input from the field. Focused on clinical outcomes

    Cons

    Management "fire" doesn't translate to the regional management staff. Long term employees unwilling to listen to feedback from the field. Status of business development staff being greater than clinician is problematic and sets up competitive environment. 3 managers in 2.5 years. Lack of pay raises problematic

    Advice to Management

    Do not always promote from within into RVP, SRVP positions(get input from 'new blood") ; recognize clinicians more through regional meetings of Clinical Directors; same for BOMs
