Approves of CEO

Pros

Management works with you for time off unless it is during peak season. Good experience with processes. Morally positive product.

Cons

Seasonal nature of the business. Communication is terrible. Big changes may be made without all levels getting the information. There is a bigger focus on promoting the brand name than profit. Turning a blind eye to quality problems and putting the burden on employees to fix problems this practice causes.

Advice to Management

Listen to employees. Give credit to people if they have a good idea. Ask people what can be done to improve their job function. Don't put policies in place, ask employees to enforce policies, and then make an exception to the policy.

I worked at American Achievement full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Company has a long history and a lot of tradition to go with it. Great opportunity when I needed it.

    Cons

Not a lot of room for professional growth or advancement. Raises seemed to be frozen pending a possible sale of the company.

    Advice to Management

Listen less to the sales representatives in the field and more to your talented employees. They are the backbone of your company.
