I worked at American Airlines full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

-Challenging environment
-Good Benefits
-Opportunities for promotion

Cons

-Front line employees are not accountable
-Unions are out of control
-Management is risk averse and too traditional

Advice to Management

Get out of Centerport and see how employees are treating customers. You will be shocked. Employees no longer feel they have to represent the American Airlines brand. They feel free to do whatever they please and are not held accountable. Also the culture of yes men the exists in the Customer organization means that past mistakes ans missteps continue to be the order of the day.

I worked at American Airlines full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flying all over the states but never being too far from home.

    Cons

The downside of a smaller airline is the number of legs a flt. attendant can fly per day... sometimes up to 7!

    Advice to Management

No more then 5 legs per day.
