I worked at American Airlines full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Great experience, always something new, never dull, great people. I was given a lot of responsibility from day one. The benefits package was very generous but that may be in the past.

Cons

Opportunity for advancement is limited. MBAs are recruited and selected for development. Others are left out. You need to make sure that you get varied positions and not locked in to one area as you can get too specialized.

Advice to Management

Focus on employee development

I worked at American Airlines full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - travel benefits are good, unlike other airlines AA does their employee travel on a first come first serve basis while others do it on seniority levels so you get bumped.
    - The medical benefits were good when I was there.

    Cons

    - they do not pay very well
    - management will micromanage you and will be on your back especially in Dallas, everyone is trying to prove themselves

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more as some have good advice on making the company better
