I worked at American Airlines full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

As a flight attendant is was able to see most of the U.S. as well as Canada and Mexico. Met wonderful people from all over the world.

Cons

The pay is terrible, management is completely out of touch about what really goes on at the airport. Long days and short nights. I stayed exhausted 24/7.

Advice to Management

The employees care as much if not more than management about the success of American. The employees ARE the airline! It's really embarrassing apologizing for stupid management decisions a dozen times a day.

I worked at American Airlines (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The benefits is for my life time as long as I am able to travel.

    Cons

I am Retired and they closed the desk that we used to buy our ID90 discount for flying between the Hawaiian Island. They said we would have to book on our Jet Net. com. But I did not find the info needed to apply for ID90's within Jet Net. I still cannot use this benefit for future travel and I was advised I would have to call The American Airlines Travel line to do that and now I don't have a phone number to call them. It is a big run-around.

    Advice to Management

Think of your retirees. We worked hard for you until our retirement and now we are out here and instead of floating, we are sinking.
