I have been working at American Airlines full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Competent senior leadership that is executing a viable business plan. Solid, though middle of the road benefit package. Adequate growth opportunities.

    Cons

Extraordinarily weak middle management and department heads. Many at the department head level and several at the VP level are actually "in bed" with the TWU and as a result put union desires ahead of corporate needs. Much of the middle management ranks are former TWU members as well and sacrifice their loyalty to the corporation to cover up both illegal and immoral acts. Rampant racial and gender discrimination throughout the system.

    Advice to Management

Welcome to our side of the merger. Please come in with your eyes wide open and do not believe everything you are told. Visit the stations, review the records, and above all investigate and ask questions. You took over a good company, now you have an opportunity to fix it andwe can all succeed.
