I have been working at American Apparel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - You get a good clothing incentive
-All the sales associate/keyholders are very outgoing and fun people (depending on which store you work of course)
-It's a lay back job at most times
-You meet a lot of interesting people
    -Easy to get promoted

    Cons

-The PAY. When minimum wage went up, the wage for the staff never changed except our sales associate (which made the same as the keyholders)
-No matter how much you work hard and put effort into your work, you will never get any appreciation.
-DM will never tell you anything but how bad and terrible the store looks (God knows HOW THE STORE IS EVEN RUNNING..)
-If you want to work for this company, NEVER ACCEPT PROMOTIONS, they expect more and more from you and you get nothing out of it.
-When you're the assistant manager, the manager basically yells at you for everything even though you put a lot of effort into your job. It's not fair and sooner or later you just get fed up.
-Everything can be great for a minute and the next minute your manager hates you
-People can get fired for no reason

    Advice to Management

-Stop taking out your unstable emotional feelings out on your staff
-Be a little more motivating and support your staff more
-Request more raises for employees, i see people who have worked over a year and is still making
    minimum wage
-Unless you actually do something and helped out the store, stop complaining about everything
