Pros

-health benefits and aflac options
-PTO
-employee discount

Cons

-poor working hours for someone looking for a day job. AAA is often in need of people for the 3-11 shift
-almost everyone has to work at least one weekend day.
-low pay, and very insulting compared to other departments
-lower level managers running dispatch frequently disappear on half hour long smoke breaks or do not answer their phone. Not very knowledgeable of company policy and are eager to shift the blame to the call taker right away,It seemed that was changing for the better and long term call takers who knew the ins and outs of AAA policies were getting moved to dispatch positions Just remember, you are always recorded!

Advice to Management

I would highly recommend reconsidering the pay rate of what Member service call takers earn. A call taker is always multitasking by operating a multilinephone, doing mass mailings, entering marketing promotions into software, scanning, faxing, and emailing on Microsoft Outlook, and to top it off they get the worst hours and have to deal with the angriest most frustrated people. They at least deserve more than 10.00 an hour.

    Pros

AAA has a solid, deserved reputation for serving their members roadside assistance, travel and insurance needs.
Mid St. Louis county location avoids long commute in/out St. Louis, St. Charles on congested I-64.

    Cons

Compensation significantly lower than comparable positions in other organizations and industries.
Significantly lacking training and growth opportunies in information systems.

    Advice to Management

Apply quality of service expectations to all functions within the organization, not just those that directly serve AAA members.

    Pros

    Great pay and great benefits
Great brand with a long standing reputation

    Cons

    Constant change in compensation
Disconnect with upper management and sales team
    No support locally with marketing

    Advice to Management

Stop sending people over to run the operations when they have no clue what it's even like to sell there. They have never sold a policy in the state they are running.
