No opinion of CEO

Pros

Mission, volunteers, great research program.

Cons

poor statewide leadership, politics, lack of vision, disconnected communication, unethical practices, "the blind leading the blind". Need to reevaluate top leaderships ability to motivate and appreciate their workforce. Wish our national office would pay attention to the decline of morale and employee dissatisfaction in California. Train wreck waiting to happen and hope I am off that train when it does.

Advice to Management

Stop trying to market yourselves personally and pay attention to the needs and morale of your employees.

    Pros

The mission is great, the society does a lot for research, as well as programs to support cancer patients. Most of the volunteers are really great and truly care about what they are doing.

    Cons

There is no work-life balance. You are expected to work 60 hours a week- minimum.

    Advice to Management

Be honest when interviewing potential employees. I was not told honestly about the amount of hours. Be nicer to your employees- maybe your turnover rate won't be so high. Volunteers notice the turnover rate, and as a result lose trust in ACS-therefore, you should care about it too.
