    Negative Outlook

I worked at American Cancer Society as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

ACS is a great place to work because you know you're doing something good for the community. The office is in a nice location and there are good places to go for lunch. That's basically the only good things I can say about my experience.

    Cons

There was no office culture at all. Everyone stayed in their offices all day and barely interacted. My intern coordinator never introduced me to the other interns or anyone else in our department. She ended up leaving the company and taking full credit for all the work I had done during the summer. When she left, all my stuff had been on her username because apparently I was hired "under the table" (even though I wasn't paid). Once she left and her username was deactivated, ALL of my stuff was gone. I tried calling her many times but she never returned my calls.

    Advice to Management

Make a better internship program! Otherwise, don't hire interns because you're wasting their time.

    Pros

Well-known brand, potential to have big impact, helping people

    Cons

Bureaucratic, mediocrity is embraced, lots apathy towards the work

    Advice to Management

Allow those with a different, more modern perspective to be heard. Allow young, intelligent people to thrive instead of forcing them down.
