I worked at American Cancer Society full-time (More than a year)

Pros

A few incredibly creative people; salary; benefits; work/life balance.

Cons

Upper management is dishonest. They fired my supervisor because she was too successful and rocked the boat to much. They love mediocrity.

Advice to Management

Get out of your own way. When you say you're a "talent-focused organization," try to actually mean it.

I have been working at American Cancer Society full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    funded research and patient support

    Cons

While being the largest non-profit, there is a disturbing environment of bizarre politics, blatant favoritism, lack of opportunity and no raises for mid and low level employees. These
employees are taken for granted while expected to contribute their own money back to the organization and donate their time outside of work with no credit for doing so.

    Advice to Management

Upper executives make obscene salaries ought to reward their employees for a change.
