No opinion of CEO

I worked at American College of Physicians full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Although this organization is a not-for-profit, it offers decent salaries and some excellent benefits: on-site gym and cafeteria, automatic 401K contributions, very nice office space, and a parking garage (if you ever make it off the waiting list).

Cons

Managers tend to run their departments like fiefdoms, and there is less cooperation among departments than one would hope. The organization spends a lot of time and money chasing trends rather than providing innovative products and services to its physician members.

Advice to Management

Be faster to adopt new technology in order to keep up with your members. Be willing to cut projects that are loss leaders, even if they have been in place for many years.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at American College of Physicians full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on department ...flexible schedule, decent pay and positive work environment. Very supportive with regard to learning opportunities.

    Cons

Inter-departmental cattiness. Values degree attained over skill and experience.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people who know what they're doing in addition to having the relevant degree.
