    I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The only pro for me is the 40% discount. And sometimes on select items we got 60% off. That was nice.

    Cons

    The most frustrating part was the scheduling. It came out on a weekly basis and you had to come in to pick it up, you couldn't call or you would get yelled at. New employees all the time because everyone is quitting after about 2 months, I was around for 7 months and they never register trained me and trained everyone else, and guess what? They quit. I had a performance on Black Friday so I told them I could work the morning and the response I got was, "Oh, we can't guarantee that. You might be scheduled for the night." WHY? I can't come, why do that? They did this to everyone. During slow times, no hours. I went a full month with no hours, but I always had to come in to pick up a scheduled that said unscheduled. Too many managers that needed their 40 hours. Sometimes I'd come in to work and they would tell me they didn't need me so I could leave. WASTE OF GAS. You couldn't even talk to your coworkers about anything without being yelled at over the earpiece thing. You have to watch videos before every shift and fill out a little worksheet like a child. Unreal.

    Advice to Management

    Join the 21st century and do scheduling online. Treat employees better. Get better managers for stores.
