I have been working at American Eagle Outfitters full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Fair compensation, well organized, clear goals and expectations

Cons

Retail lifestyle, work weekends, no set schedule, can be hard to move up in the store ranks because everyone that's serious about retail stays with the company.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, but stop sending cheesy holiday voicemails over the IP phone...we have better things to do than listen to your terrible vocal ensembles.

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Able to talk with people and interact, cool people to work with, and a fun work environment. A lot of the work meetings we had were fun as well.

    Cons

hard to get hours, managers definitely play favorites. They have an idea of how they want you to act, which is definitely a learned skill, but they don't give you enough time to learn that skill.

    Advice to Management

Try to give newer employees more chances to flourish

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They are very laid back: I could wear crop tops (because thats why they sold) and they didn't mind my tattoo was showing. I was able to keep my cartilage and nose stud in, even though you aren't really allowed too, they were so laid back that they didn't mind. The discount was amazing: 40% off and 50% off on new things.

    Cons

There was a certain manager there that was SO rude to me every time I came in, whether I was there shopping on my day off or not. You have to physically go into the store to get your schedule.

    Advice to Management

Really check into the reasons why some people don't like that certain manager; he is not fit to be a manager.
