I have been working at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Flexible hours, great discount on cute clothes online and in store.
Great coworkers and staff, managers are cool and mellow.
Expierence not required.

Cons

Usually only you and a manager on the floor.
You have to do mostly everything yourself: cashier, fitting rooms, customer service and keeping everything neat/oragnized. Manager greets people and tells you what to do.

Advice to Management

Not enough pay for what you have to do 8.25 (minimun wage)

I have been working at American Eagle Outfitters full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay was decent considering it was a temporary seasonal job unlike many other similar companies that pay a lot less for the same amount of work.

    Cons

Misleading dress requirements. In other words, they allow casual dress, however, it had to be what was "in" during the current season. They expect you to dress in their clothes but don't pay you enough to even live and eat. But, expect you to spend an entire paycheck just in clothes to wear for work, which leaves you next to nothing to live on. In due time, i lost my job because i wasn't able to afford the "appropriate" jeans and clothing to wear while working.

    Advice to Management

Be a lot more mindful of how you conduct yourselves while visiting other company stores and how you treat employees who work more than what you pay them and yet still put a smile on their face! Take consideration in what you are willing to pay hourly for associates who especially have family's (like single mothers) and are working hard just to make ends meet. Most importantly, consider the hours you are willing to offer instead of being misleading to those you hire and tell them its full-time and yet hire 4 other people and only give the dedicated open available employee 8 or 10 hours a month and yet expect that they must have open availability or you will have to let them go.
