I have been working at American Express full-time (More than a year)

Pros

American Express has great benefits, including decent health care, sick time and lots of paid vacation time. Team leaders, management and higher ups are all very nice and great to work with. This positions is also work-at-home which is a great option for those who can manage an in-home office.

Cons

Incoming calls are continuous, and there is not a lot of down time. Calls can become repetitive with similar issues and inquiries. The job can be stressful when customers complain.

I have been working at American Express full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Given its relatively large size, moving into other groups or organizations to keep the work fresh is very common. Top performers can have their choice of locations to work with preferential cross-posting opportunities. Benefits are great with 100% match 401k + relatively cheap healthcare costs, and compensation is top tier for top performers! If you're ambitious and bring some dedication to add value, you can spend an entire career here!!

    Cons

...can be bureacratic given its undeniably larger corporate nature, but less so than similarly large organizations.

It is a public company with dedication to its shareholders, so occassional cost cutting is also part of the culture. Top performers are well protected, though, and displaced employees usually find somewhere else in the company to go.

    Advice to Management

Little to none. I'd love to get more advice from our top-tier management team, though. :)
