Look a at the talent you have and fit it to the job ot how long a person has been there.

    Pros

    The reputation of the company is really good. I worked in their phone center though and it is very different form the rest of American Express.

    Cons

    Being tied to the telephone and not able to have the freedom to walk around. Customers were rude over the phone. Requesting time off was hard especially calling in sick. The penalty system is a 3 strikes and your out, and the strikes could be breaing any of the thousands of rules they have.

    Advice to Management

    Less rules. Trust your employees and let them manage themselves more. Also the new healthcare benefit package is horrible for any single parents or lower income families.

    Pros

    Great brand. Very nice and collegial atmosphere. Emerging workplace flexibility policies and programs. Focus on leadership and employee engagement is heading the company in the right direction.

    Cons

    Can be a passive aggressive culture. Very bureaucratic and heavily matrixed environment--difficult to get things done. Slow moving.

    Advice to Management

    Need to get better at risk taking, clarity of decision making, and fostering dialogue through effective conflict management strategies.
