Pros

Great mission to save lives. Educating in CPR and saving lives. Can't say enough. Passionate place to work. Celebrates everyone for all walks of life, open to diversity of cultures and backgrounds.

Cons

There is NO movement within the field sales ranks. Some peers have been in role for over 10 years. This causes turnover of talented people who feel under appreciated and un wanted. There is NO DIVERSITY AT ALL in senior managment positons or Corporate. NONE!

    Pros

    Wonderful volunteers
    Good benefits and vacation

    Cons

    Bad management
    Toxic culture
    Lousy staff morale
AHA is like a bad episode of Project Runaway - you're either "in" or you're "out"
If you're "out" forget about advancement. Skillless suck ups are golden, workhorse admins are abused and unappreciated.

    Advice to Management

    Really?!

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Raising money to save lives is rewarding
    Meeting survivors
Connecting with supportive members of the community

    Cons

    Zero work/life balance
    HUGE egos running the organization
Angry/bitter managers who forget why the organization is raising money
Employees constantly berated for what they "could have done better"
Either bow down to management or lose your job, regardless of how well you're doing your job

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the effort, dedication and commitment of staff
Quit coming down on staff for outcomes far out of their control
    Exercise compassion and understanding
Understand that managing means mentoring, coaching and inspiring -- NOT threatening, instilling fear, putting people down and engaging in clique-like behavior
CHANGE THE CULTURE (if you have to say out loud daily that you want employees to "value people, collaborate purposefully and manage their time in a healthy way," then it's most likely NOT happening!)
Recognize that morale is LOW, turnover is HIGH and employees are NOT happy
