Pros
I've been working for APUS as an adjunct instructor for 2 years now and it's been a pleasure working for this college. I have a great department chair who's always willing to answer any questions I may have and she is very supportive. Most of the students I've had have been eager to learn and do well in my classes. The overall atmosphere is one that is welcoming and very supportive.
Cons
The only downside is the pay. Pay is based on the number of students you have in a class, rather than your degree. I think if someone has gone the extra mile of getting a doctorate, he/she should be compensated for it.

Improve Training Program
Feb 19, 2023 - Financial Advisor in Charleston, WVRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
APUS has a beautiful school location in West Virginia, easy onboarding process, and motivated students.
Cons
•Training doesn't adequately prepare financial advisors to take calls from students calling for vastly different reasons. •There are far too many websites to navigate during system checks and the process is clumsy, inefficient, and ridiculous. •Trainees are expected to remember an overwhelming amount of information generally reviewed in presentations. •Some managers are impatient, unprofessional, and think that it's amusing to see trainees struggle with independently delivering information to students. •Far too many financial advisors rely on their managers for help with answering calls because they weren't adequately trained. Consequently, managers can't afford to be patient and give new hires their undivided attention during coaching/mentorship calls. • There are so many small details to locate on lots of different websites and sometimes tedious calculations to perform in such a short period of time.
