- thorough training

Cons

- low pay
- little room for advancement
- uncertain future; one round of layoffs after another makes long-term planning and projects difficult
- unclear expectations
- in-fighting between departments
- favoritism

Advice to Management

Communicate better with employees, and make an attempt to retain talented ones. Train managers who have been promoted internally. Make promotions more transparent.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at American Red Cross full-time

    Pros

The mission is the best thing going for this place. The pay for some positions is really good. The benefits are great. 4 weeks of vacation.

    Cons

Constant fear of reorganizations & layoffs as they happen frequently and if you aren't in the right little group, you are outta there! Disorganized. Inefficient. Lots of duplication of efforts. People only talk to people with the right title. Too top heavy. Spending too much money flying people that live in other states into DC to work.

    Advice to Management

Stop the favortism. Do a better job at saving money and stop letting people that live in other fly in and out on your dime to work

    Pros

The health insurance benefits, 401k, etc. are decent.

    Cons

Employees are treated not as people, but as another cog in the machine. Very inflexible management. There are little to no prospects for career growth.
