Negative Outlook

I have been working at American Society for Clinical Pathology full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Employees can wear jeans in the summer. They offer flex time and the benefits in general are good. You can work from home on occasion.

Cons

All the good people are leaving. Upper management is very disorganized and not very professional.

Advice to Management

Be more honest with your employees. HR department is not very professional and you can't speak to them in confidence.

I worked at American Society for Clinical Pathology full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very few remain related to the workplace culture or leadership
    Good location
    Good benefits

    Cons

Seriously, take heed of the negative reviews on this site. In the 5 years I worked at the organization, it has been on a steady decline. There is no fiscal management-- multi-million dollar renovations were scheduled for the coming year, not 4 months after 30 staff were laid off.

Archaic and cheap technology and thinking. Very little value for expertise- they are always looking to blame staff for incredibly miscommunicated initiatives. There is Increasingly complex planning with no planning/infrastructure to manage or support over worked staff.

Politics are rampant and the place has reorganized at least 4 times in 5 years. Each re-organization actually makes things worse. Conflict- shy people in leadership positions. No accountability, and no concern for staff welfare.

There are no growth opportunities for staff.. unless you are an assistant or coordinator. Or on the senior leadership team and can promote yourself by giving loft titles. This is why staff get experience and leave.

If you care about your career or work-life balance, stay away.

    Advice to Management

None. it is obvious they don't care about staff or membership.
