Pros

Amgen is a great company to work for. Financially very strong and has great work culture.

Cons

Career growth is limited and there are not many pharma companies in the neighbourhood

I have been working at Amgen full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In the old days, Amgen was a big company that worked like a startup. The compensation was good, and there was a collaborative atmosphere and staff were motivated and energetic. The compensation is still good, and there is still collaboration, but not so much energy and motivation.

    Cons

Organization and Culture is changing, maybe we are becoming 'big pharma' - but the market seems to like what's happening now, as the stock price is doing really well.

I have been working at Amgen full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great campus and gym, great science, generally good people

    Cons

senior management gets more money while those doing the work (director and down) are getting less and less every year. Keep taking away the little things. Lack of development opportunities.

    Advice to Management

When I joined, Amgen was still unique but has turned into a typical large pharma company. More and more levels of management and politics to deal with with less recognition and innovation.
