      Pros

good people, good experience, professional place to work. Amgen's known for their generous bonuses and European-style paid time off, matching 401k, and awesome gym.

      Cons

the benefits make it hard to leave. they're known as the "golden handcuffs." thousand oaks is a miserable town to live in, unless you are ready to have your white picket fence and 2.5 kids. then it's a great town to live in.

          Pros

I work with some very talented, kind people. Benefits are great. I am well-compensated; however, the pay across the same department for the same role can vary quite a lot. I enjoy flex-work. My direct line manager is kind, understanding, supportive, and respectful.

          Cons

The work/life balance in the RACMC organization can be very poor, and generally, cross-functional team members who work on regulatory filings experience the same excessive workload. Upper management assume people leave because the pay is more attractive elsewhere, and while that may factor in for some, the heavy workload and seemingly random promotion decisions play a large role as well. Some people with limited experience will be promoted quickly, where others with many years of experience, in the same department, who have made very significant contributions, will be passed over.

im not sure but I feel embarrassed for randomly messaging a connection in LinkedIn and asked if he can refer me to the job that Im interested in at his company. this is my fist time doing this in my entire career of 17 yrs. based on some post on LI it is not unusual to ask for referral but will help you also get interviewed, i have an initial interview with the HR last Monday and I send a follow up email to her but no reply so I thought of messaging a connection in LI. thoughts?

Do recruiters actually look at linked in profiles after a candidate has applied for a job? My resume is the most updated document, not so much my linked in profile. Is it a must to update my profile (with info about what was done in each role) or does a well executed resume suffice?
