Pros

Benefits
quality products
sales incentive plan, including high car allowance.

Cons

Sales Management is weak, inconsistent and inexperienced. Marketing and product lines (factory) have more expertise and less employment volatility.

Advice to Management

Sales Engineers should be recognized and rewarded for demand creation and account penetration. Currently, there is no incentive for sales engineers to be proactive when there are many ADI sales engineers with employment longevity who are passive and reactive.

    Pros

Provides excellent opportunity to develop specific skills to keep you competitively productive.

    Cons

Not working as part of any team, no incentives offered for extra effort. Work you like dogs with no piece of the pie in return.

    Advice to Management

With the last reduction of the profit sharing bonus, you have brought the majority of your employees just trying to make it with today's economic challenges to their knees. It is with their blood, sweat and tears you profit. Know that people are miserable, productivity has slowed to a crawl and there is no gratification working here. Restore the profit sharing bonus to what it was and give the workers back something and restore pride to the workforce.

I worked at Analog Devices full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Ray Stata (founder). Solid engineering talent. Specialized market niche based on technology leadership. Great people. Haven for semiconductor professionals in the Boston area. Customers really value the brand.

    Cons

Run too much by "old buddy" network, so a lot of less-than-professional practices are accepted. Future growth potential is doubtful, especially with the "betting big" approach. Often fails to compete in the big leagues because of bureaucratic leadership and sclerotic engineers.

    Advice to Management

Manufacturing is dragging you down. The company needs to be a lot of more multi-cultural.
