Pros

With economy down, it is employment until the next round of lay-offs come around. There are still a few decent people left.

Cons

Morale low-top management passes along that downsizing finished, only to come along a few weeks later and lay-off more people. Work doesn't go away, just absorbed by those remaining. Most salaried people worked 50 to 60 hours a week with AB, now 60 to 70 hours a week. One comment--Its still light out,you don't need to leave yet.
Salary bands lowered, so if you are above the top of the band, you won't get a raise.
Previous posting mentioned ability to get promoted with willingness to move--look at company demograhics, very few people with company over 40 years old.

Advice to Management

Brito and the board run the company . Yes, most people know that. Employees don't have to be happy with what is happening though. The employee survey asks the quesition if people would leave for another company offering a little higher salary, most people are looking for a position somewhere else--regardless of salary. Even the newly hired college people are getting full of the Kool-Aid, and realize it is a short term future with this company.

    Pros

The chance to work for a worldwide company with household names as brands. A competitve salary and a final salary pension if have been there for a long time (not available to new starters).

    Cons

Poorly managed since the transfere from Interbrew to Inbev. Staff cost cutting exercise released the wrong people, only a handfull of engineers left on site and they were the ones with the knowledge to run the place. The shop floor had proposed to take the senior managemen to court over an attempt to change their hours from 39 to 42 a week. The company backed down before it reached court.

    Advice to Management

Drop VPO. Although it contains some good stuff this project has not been managed well and will not get any backing from staff going forward. VPO means redundacies to the men actually running the plant
