I have been working at Ann Taylor part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

50% discount - great clients! Love helping plan work/career or various other wardrobes with clients and them leaving thrilled with their new purchases!

    Cons

Disrespectful - unorganized- need consistency in how things work between managers. Schedule changes are made by managers without informing employees of changes & then blaming them for being late, coming in on wrong day, etc. Different set of rules for certain associates - use of employee discount for friends & family members even though it is against company policy, depending on whether you are buddies/party with managers. Amazingly no training manuals/instructions for lead positions - little to no training for new associates before being thrown on the floor/register. No chance of moving up in the company unless you are personal friends with management. High turnover - five Sales Leads in the last year, steady turnover of associates. Low company morale. Internal theft.

    Advice to Management

Training manuals/materials so one knows how to perform their job wether associate or lead positions. Have ONE person in management to go to for clarification on assignment instead of each one telling you a different way it is supposed to be done and therefore setting you up for failure. Treat all employees with respect not just the few who are buddies. Put in cameras at register/cash wrap to stop internal theft!! Promote from within!!!

I have been working at Ann Taylor part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is very friendly and willing to help you. You get great discounts, especially when you get a Bravo or Prominent. As a business college student I am able to build my professional wardrobe at a lower cost.

    Cons

There are no real cons towards the retail stores, it would be more aimed at corporate. The designers, supply chain, and marketing need to re-evaluate their goals as a company. There are always promotions, meaning the customers will just wait until products they like go on sale. And sometimes the fit of the clothing and patterns are not appealing. And we get too much of each thing

    Advice to Management

Keep encouraging your employees, given constant feedback to help them improve. And continue sending feedback to corporate.
