I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

They allow some people to work remotely, the benefits are good and the salary is average. I liked working for a multi-national company.

Cons

Company provides very sub-par training for virtual employees, there are few checks and balances on virtual managers. The process is basically "sink-or-swim". I found learning my job at Hewitt more difficult than at any other job. And that is despite constantly speaking out that I needed training from day one. I also found that my time was wasted a lot because i was a random gear in the process.

Advice to Management

Provide hands-on training for employees; rely less on video clips. Offer bonuses to more employees who work on implementation projects upon project completion.

I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Helpful to newcomers. Good hrs., nice people.

    Cons

Hire temps at a low wage, and don't give us any time length for permanent employment.

    Advice to Management

Your temps are doing the same job as your perm. employees, with alot less training. We should have some sort of time frame for being hired perm, not a 3-11 month window. Some of us actually want to do a good job, but want to know if we are wasting our time or stick it out.

I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    It is better than unemployment.

    Cons

Every benefit (Health, Vacation Time, 401k, etc) got worse for Hewitt employees when AON acquired Hewitt. The only thing that increased is that we could elect more Supplemental Life Insurance.

    Advice to Management

Cut down on the management layers. Stop treating your lower level employees like they are dumb by "spinning" bad news. Don't pee on them and tell them it's raining.
