I have been working at Apollo Education Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Dedicated, hard-working people
    Education benefit
    Good vacation benefit

    Cons

3 CIO's in as many years
Constantly in a state of flux - difficult to make progress against strategic objectives
Current CIO is dismantling everything to achieve target presumably set by board - hopefully not merely to increase his bonus.
To meet objective will break things almost beyond repair
Headcount will be reduced below what is required to run the business in a market where competition for talent will be fierce.

    Advice to Management

Get some eyes on the ground and see what's being done to reduce cost. It costs less to retain talent than to attract in the first place. Hope that permanent damage hasn't been done already. The exodus has begun and nothing is being done to stem the tide.

I have been working at Apollo Education Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Smart people, challenging problems, heavy software development, focus on making lives better through education. Good corporate citizen, on site cafe and work out facility. Centrally located in Phoenix, good parking

    Cons

Sector is down, profits are down, turbulent times ahead, company is at a turning point relative to the market. Challenges include online not for profit, student loan debt, goverment regulation, and MOOC's

    Advice to Management

Find ways to cut cost, link people to jobs, expand overseas
