I have been working at Applied Materials full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They need some people with knowledge, experience, and hard work to get job done, but no return.
And they also need some people stay in their manager's office to chat, and get big rewards.
Many managers know little about their jobs.

    Cons

It is a politician field, not for a man of integrity

I have been working at Applied Materials full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employee and customer focused messaging from Corporate perspective. Compensation structure (salary, bonus, RSU's, benefits) are competitive within Silicon Valley

    Cons

Industry is susceptible to severe downturns every 3-5 years resulting in corresponding employee downsizing events. The company has invested large sums in the Solar equipment space which is currently dominated by the Chinese. Even though the company has tried to rightsize the business to make it breakeven in the hopes of a turnaround, my feeling is this will be a fruitless effort in the long run

    Advice to Management

Stay focused on core technology in semiconductor manufacturing space.
