    Pros

Consultants eligible for benefits after working only a few hours
Can get you inside some great companies
Pays consultants promptly every two weeks, even if the client hasn't paid

    Cons

Most agents don't know what they're doing
Agents generally don't take the time to get to know your skills or background
If there's a problem between you and client, Aquent sides with client; they'll pretty much throw the consultant to the wolves
Seems to be very little business development -- they don't sell consultants' skills, just wait on available positions to open up
High turnover among agents/recruiters -- I worked with six in less than a year

    Advice to Management

Hire some experienced HR people or others. I worked with a couple of 20-something recruiters who seemed to blindly put me up for whatever job came open, regardless of whether I had the skills. Frustrating for both me and the employer. I had one agent who was more experienced, and she was wonderful -- but she was frustrated with the company and left after just a couple of months.

    Pros

Hands-down, the best thing about Aquent is the people who work there -- people are social, hard-working, very few non-producers.

    Cons

Management doesn't always follow through on promises. Aquent is also struggling between being a "corporation" versus an "agency" environment. At the strangest of times they gravitate toward one over the other.

    Advice to Management

Realize that the people who brought you success over the years are NOT the people to dump when the economy tightens. Commitment flows both ways, but Aquent management thinks it's a one-way street.
