I worked at Aramark full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good pay and benefits, rewards program is good for performance. Good samples and order processing. There are positions who's only job is to fulfill and deliver first orders.

Cons

Operations people run the show in New England so quality and customer satisfaction is not as important, due to the costs. A lot of friction between delivery guys and sales.

Advice to Management

Great company in other parts of country, bring n operations people to turn this market around.

    Pros

Company does not offer anything specific or special that I would consider a "pro"

    Cons

Seem very disorganized most of the time. Very little strategic thinking and accountability to follow through with assigments. Does not provide many development opportunities.

I have been working at Aramark full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Operating an establishment on a college campus that is only required to be open when the university students are in session, allows for vacation opportunities during desired holiday times like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Many other food service establishments such as restaurants would be open around and on holidays.

    Cons

Many dining facilities are required to be open 7 days a week and offer all 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) to accommodate students that live on campus and have no other options for meals. Often many dining facilities are now being open for a fourth (late night) meal option. Being open for this long requires more hours of operation and more time to be spent at work for management, managing the operation(s).

Not ever closing during operational times (ie. school semesters), can cause a poor work/life balance as off time is usually required to be spent at work keeping or catching up with a ever growing amount of paperwork and personnel issues.
