Pros

Great benefits, great training, friendly work environment. Days always go by fast. Well organized and structured workplaces. Depending on your community, you get rewarded for your actions

Cons

Once you hit a certain level (management), there is no further development. You become an assistant manager or community manager, then that is is for the rest of your life. Its all politics to get what you want.

Advice to Management

Archstone needs to have some other way of promoting their internal employees. There can't only be 4 jobs for on-site professionals.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    Work/life balance and decent benefits.
    Potential for outside training.

    Cons

    No growth.
No respect for front line employees.
    No concept of competitive compensation.
Executives have bloated paychecks and bonuses in the millions, however they say they cannot afford to give employees decent bonuses.
Executives making decisions that they are not qualified to make.
If you are looking at sitting on your rear end and are not motivated to move forward in your career or make more money, this is the perfect place.
Never have I seen a company waste so much time with meetings for EVERYTHING.
All decisions are made at the very top in managements own interest

    Advice to Management

Revive the company culture to what it once used to be and quit using the recession as an excuse to keep cutting into the company and paying yourselves more. Morale is low and bad decisions are hurting the Archstone brand.
