Pros

The people are friendly for the most part. Minimal structure means you have a lot of free time on your hands. Casual dress code.

Cons

No opportunity for advancement. Pay is well below industry standard. Seems like everyone in a management position is related. Rarely give positive or negative feedback.

Advice to Management

Talk to your employees about what they want improved. Create policies for the company so management can't just create rules as they go along.

keep the hard workers working and get rid of the ones that dont the ones that mack the comp. money are the ones you want to work not the ones that keep hours down

I have been working at Arctic Glacier full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Management is not micromanaging all the time. There is latitude to do things the way you prefer, so long as it doesn't conflict with major policy or other business needs. Overtime is abundant. The Ice and Water that Arctic Glacier sells is legitimately a very pure, quality product that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Their business is solid, and they almost have a monopoly in their markets. Job security is pretty certain.

    Cons

There is not a whole lot of opportunity for advancement. They were three months late in confirming successful completion of my probation period. There is no way to tell how much vacation you have available unless you ask your boss to tell you. There really is not a uniform training program for the various job functions.

    Advice to Management

Develop a training plan. Become ISO9000 and ISO14001 certified. I think sales could be better driven with better marketing. There is a negative attitude towards the company by many customers just because demand is so high, and sometimes it is hard to know if and when you might get your ice delivery. Especially in a heat wave.
