I have been working at Arnot Ogden Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some great nurses, physicians, assistants and great learning experiences.

    Cons

Administration is a joke, too many hands in the pot has led to extreme lack of communication, lack of staff, resources and ultimately bad outcomes with patients. Vital equipment to patient care doesn't work, outdated facilities put patients in danger, little to no communication between departments, nurse to patient ratio's are awful and do not take acuity into account. Patient satisfaction is down, employee morale is non existent, and nobody listens to the nursing staff when concerns are brought up. Many are even punished when they express their concerns or try to give new ideas.

    Advice to Management

Total restructuring needs to be done. This hospital was at one time the best in the area both for our patients and staff. Not anymore. People are afraid to come there when sick but don't have many choices, staff are embarrassed to say where they work. Biggest mistake ever was buying out St. Joseph and Ira Davenport hospitals without fixing Arnot first.
