No opinion of CEO

Pros

With felxible hours and low work load it is good place esp. if you are not career oriented and care less for growth.
Excellent Benefit package and training as you need.

Cons

Low salary,Office politics and favoritism is around here everywhere. There is no hierarchies in the department, so you end being at the same position for years and years which is accompanied by marginal salary growth which does not depend on what you do or how you do. Its distributed evenly.

    Pros

Salaries are ok, benefits are great but the people is what makes this non-profit a great place to work. When you first start if coming from a for-profit, it will seem that the organization is moving very slow to accept change, however, once you've been there for a year or so, you will come to understand that non-profits do not move very quickly because they are beholding to their membership and mission statement.

Most of the departments and divisions work very well together. From the front-line customer service staff, continuing education, membership, institutes and other areas work through their differences and make the best decision for the customer, membership and organization.

The senior management is very supportive of work/life balance and they all are going through values leadership training to try and improve the culture; fairly relaxed atmosphere; great organization overall.

    Cons

-Difficult to move up in the organization primarily due to the fact that the people enjoy what they do and don't typically don't leave the organization, so I don't know if that a con or pro.
-There are a couple siloed areas that are more concerned with their own bottom line that need to get in line. Probably want though.
    -Very political.
    -Constant gossip.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course, continue to grow and improve.

I have been working at Asce full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

ASCE is the BEST employer I've ever worked for, and I've worked for many. The leadership is supportive, the benefits are great, and the staff accomplished more in the past year than anyone thought possible. While associations are facing challenging times, ASCE is on the right track, doing the right things, and making a monumental difference in the world.

    Cons

Office shower facilities are adequate but could be larger.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course, persevere and continue to grow and improve, working together.
