I have been working at Ascension Health full-time

Pros

Ascension Health is a great place to work. They offer a competitive salary and benefits package, the management treats you as a person and not a number, and there is lots of opportunity to learn new things.

Cons

The workload can be heavy at times.

Advice to Management

Keep up the great work in making your associates feel like they are part of the team. Keep an eye on the demanding working and seek resources as needed for the growth.

I have been working at Ascension Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong growing stable company. A major force in the health care industry. They really try to 'walk the 'walk' in terms of work life balance and excellent benefits.

    Cons

They are a bureaucratic nightmare for employees to try and accomplish almost any task. The number of forms and procedures employees have to go through make the DMV seem like a model of a streamlined operation.

    Advice to Management

Reduce the bureaucracy! It should not take 3 to 5 days for a new doctor to be given a user name/password and access to physician systems. It should not take six months to have simple vendor contract approved. It should not take a month to get an 8 dollar power strip or computer mouse.

I have been working at Ascension Health full-time

    Pros

Many great people who are interested in developing new employees who show promise.
Many opportunities to be a part of change thanks to Healthcare legislation.
Great for young people who want to travel and have high level exposure early in their career.

    Cons

High level supply chain is filling with former big name consultants who are politicizing the corporate culture and adopting "work to employees to death" policies.

    Advice to Management

Some of you are great, some, well, walk the talk - your employees are more than just workers.
