I have been working at Ashford University full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Benefits are nice, they sponsor sports teams so they raffle off tickets a lot which is nice. Great pay and a lot of room for growth. They try to build their employees' leaderships skills even if the employee doesn't plan on staying with the company.

Cons

My position is very micro managed. Literally every second of your day is accounted for and you will get questioned if you have like 5 minutes of time off the phones. People that call in are extremely rude and demeaning.

Advice to Management

SSCs need a little more freedom to perform their duties, but overall management seems to care.

I have been working at Ashford University full-time

    Pros

Great benefits package from day one, good compensation

    Cons

Horrifically misrepresented job. This is a hard core, call center, sales environment. Managers screaming down the aisles of cubicles "Get on the phones people"

    Advice to Management

Managing through fear is not a sustainable business model. Get rid of the "Directors" and "Managers" who are threatening people with their jobs on an HOURLY basis. Unprofessional is an understatement.

I worked at Ashford University as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great students; plenty of opportunities to interact with students and to implement your own curriculum enhancements; good support staff

    Cons

No guarantee of employment, and a tendency to phase out positions without much warning. The elimination of the Teaching Assistant position was a disservice to students.
