I have been working at Ashley Furniture full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Great job security- Ashley is never laying people off and always hiring. Good Benefits - they have health and dental and 401k.

Cons

The pay at Ashley isn't competitive compared to other companies which often means the employees aren't the greatest in the industry. If you are hired for a position that "requires" a bachelor's degree you may find yourself working in a department where no one else actually has a bachelor's degree, they may not have any college at all. The low pay means they have to settle for people who don't meet the requirements they ask for in their job postings.

Advice to Management

Better pay attracts better employees.

I worked at Ashley Furniture full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros being an employer of this company.

    Cons

The Warehouse is run extremely dysfunctional with an outdated system. The company's failure to follow advice or invest in modern warehouse technology causes lost items and extra stress upon employees resulting in unhappy employees and a very negative work environment. Productivity is sluggish caused by the companies greed and lack professionalism in unqualified upper management.

The company is extremely cheap, under compensates employers with salaries much lower when compared to other companies. They claim to have health benefits when they hire you, however, you later find out that you pay the full cost for it. the company puts nothing towards your benefits whatsoever.

    Advice to Management

Be honest during the hiring process, train you managers regularly through positive management seminars and workshops, invest in modern technology, respect your employees and offer fair compensation.

I worked at Ashley Furniture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pretty laid back, some fun people work there.

    Cons

Pretty useless website with no listed prices, since they vary from franchise to franchise. Customers get confused. Also expect to get yelled at by irate customers for warehouse errors.

    Advice to Management

    Enough with the nepotism already.
