I worked at Ashley Furniture full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Beautiful space, hard working ethical people, in stock furniture, good delivery. Affordable furniture, easy to use computer program.

Cons

They tend to flood the floor with sales people so you have to sometimes wait hours to get an opportunity to see a customer and the price of the furniture is so low that sometimes your commission is also very low.

I have been working at Ashley Furniture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many opportunities.. with a lot of company growth on the horizon, the people and managers all have a positive attitude, and there is not lack of expansion growth.

    Cons

training is primarily done on your own time, and dollar, Advancement in title and responsibilities rarely coincides with a financial boost. there is so much going on there is no way to focus on any goal thus making it all but impossible to do a good job.. interestingly that seems to be ok from the management view point. (it is called operating lean) or understaffed.
The company seems to want to define it's self by the "Peter Principle."

    Advice to Management

If you really want to be a world class company staff for it, train for it, and promote those who have the skill sets..

I worked at Ashley Furniture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They hired me when I needed work and were good to me for the most part when I was there.

    Cons

Owners cared more about the bottom line than building maintenance and employee overall health.

    Advice to Management

Realize that just because some of the employees may be hourly wage earners without them the business stumbles as my former store did after they failed to hire a replacement for me to properly train before I left, with a months notice.
