I worked at Aspen Dental full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a job I got experience at by constantly running me crazy
I was hired right out of school at the bare minimum
You will get a paycheck every two weeks

    Cons

Pay is terrible- they start you out at a certain wage which is usually pretty low. Then as the years go on, they hire in new employees in at higher wages but give current employees $.04 raise, all based off your office, which has nothing to do personally with you. So someone who just started will make more money than you starting out... LOL

Hours- working a 41 hour work week is so dumb! They make you work long hours with limited time off, jam the schedule full and don't care if you have to stay late or have a short lunch, then pounce on you for being in overtime.

Morals and Ethics- The company itself is based off terrible moral and ethics. Everything revolves around money, and I mean EVERYTHING! As an employee you will seriously lose the reason you chose your career path. You stop worrying about the patients as much as they make you worry about the money. You even get pointless incentives basically based off how much money you make. It's not bad to think about money but work there and you will understand lol.

Schedule- you see a new patient every 45 minutes, on top of overflow which is jammed pack denture steps. It's too much and you rush patients out the door. New patients you have to do pano, fmx, perio charting(where you have to wait for the hygienist to come on her time), and a comprehensive exam where you also have to wait for the doctor to take a break, but expect it all done in 45 minutes, but it never does so you run behind. Also you have production which is typically jam packed as well Bc they shove monthly goals and quotas you have to make every month or you get your butts handed to you.

My main point is unless you are right out of school with no options or literally almost homeless, I would not recommend the employer. It's a huge headache totally not worth the pay.

Also, they never have coverage for you if you need off or have sick kids or even are sick yourself.. give you limited paid time off, expensive benefits, and you get 50% off their expensive prices on dental work.

    Advice to Management

    Look at my cons lol
