    Pros

    Very slow and bureaucratic life.
Legacy technologies and in house frameworks, so more can be learned on domain.
Good for short term plans (2-3) years max.

    Cons

1)Certain departments are extremely political and they go to any extent to immobilize the life and career prospects in case you don't "toe the line!".
2)Managers typically grow by oiling and expect the same from employees under the context of showing loyalty.
3)Many insecure managers show preferential treatment ,they ignore incompetence or promote incompetent people, undermining those who provide their paycheck, in order to buffer their own position.
4)A strict no for people with technical inclination."Do not get in here!" even if they pay you slightly more.Think long term.
5)Selected mentoring of people by managers who they think will protect them instead of showing fairness.

    Advice to Management

1)Senior management should look into what happens in the trenches and rescue genuine talent, instead of only getting inputs from the next level.
2)Appraisal and recognition processes should be genuine and not to protect "only" attrition.
3)Transfer of department heads will help breakdown unhealthy toxic nexus that affects the department as a whole.
