I worked at Au Bon Pain part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Discount on food which is over priced anyways

Cons

Everything. It was just bad pay bad getto coworkers, bad area of town, no respect from managers..such low pay it was just a waist of time and my girlfriend who was there to agrees..Beyond hideous butt frikin ugly a$$ nasty yellow color and aprons. Just an over all terrible experience and you had to do a tons of work for ramon noodles for dinner.
Way to small portions and over priced, People complained of rip off

Advice to Management

Fire yourselfs, fire staff, dont even think for a second that good people are going to put up with the disorganization and no pay. All the turn over is going to bring you down..just wait.

I worked at Au Bon Pain part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Discounts on food
The people I worked with were fun, but knew when to get down to business
Always had something to do, so time went by fast

    Cons

    You stink after work
Always seeing and working with the food made me sick of it
Some shifts were either really busy or really slow, so you were either really bored or really overwhelmed

    Advice to Management

Scheduling better during busy hours and slow hours of the day

I worked at Au Bon Pain full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The training was very thorough. I really felt like I learned all aspects of the business before I ran my own shifts. The benefits- health insurance etc was fine.

    Cons

As with any salaried manager jobs I felt like I worked all the time! 12 hour days, sometimes 6 days a week. I don't think my GM worked as much as I did. This is probably just my GM but he let certain employees get away with so much! If I was the GM I would definately get rid of a few people he kept around for some reason.
