I worked at Auto Club of Southern California full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The pay and benefits are excellent. They even have a pension plan in addition to the 401k.

Cons

In the sales environment there is a disconnect between the district offices and the headquarters.

Advice to Management

Listen to your employees.

I worked at Auto Club of Southern California full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay was decent when i started awhile back, pay rate has decreased since. but there are benefits and bonuses that you may qualify for so as long as you do what you are told and do it exactly. you will work for that almighty dollar.

    Cons

pay is not what it should be for the amount of work that is given. dont expect them to care or pat you on your back. just do your job and be glad in this economy that you hve one, thats all.

    Advice to Management

care for us all. more available time off. accept medical notes. increase pay. better communication.

I have been working at Auto Club of Southern California full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very good internal training department. Fair compensation. Good benefits. Fixed schedule (no surprises). Lots of locations. Ability to move up the company from within. Relaxed-professional attire (i.e. for men: ties required, suits are not)

    Cons

No flexible hours (Most offices run M-F 9-5). Turning Customer Service positions into Sales positions, at the expense of the customer, yet still pushing the 'values' of customer service. Putting more emphasis on an employee's ability to sell (in a non-sales position) than in how well an employee helps and satisfies the customer. If you are good at selling / cross-selling, then this job is likely a good choice for you. If not, look elsewhere or you will be miserable!

    Advice to Management

Don't claim the company's values are one thing, but expect the employee to deliver something different. The top priority can only be one thing, not two. If customer service is so important (as you claim) than it should be the highest measure of an employee's performance, not their sales quota figures (in non-sales positions).
