    Old-fashioned and frustrating, but stable

    Pros

    - 401K matching - Pension (but only after you’ve been an employee for five years) - Decent health/dental/vision benefits - Good co-workers - Stable company

    Cons

    - Pervasive culture of finger pointing and scapegoating when something goes wrong. Everyone saves an email paper trail for each step of every project to CYA. - The pandemic has shown the company doesn’t care about employee well-being. - Employees proved they were as productive, if not more so, working from home, but the office was repopulated with barely any safety protocols before vaccinations were widely available. - Under the guise of “fairness,” management will make blanket changes/decisions without considering that everyone’s situation is different. - Majority of the company works in the office. - Departments that are allowed to work from home were only allowed to do so after having difficulties recruiting. There’s no guarantee this will not be taken away after The Great Resignation is over. - Several levels of approval needed to do anything. - Rigid upper management that reaches out for employee feedback, but refuses to actually listen to them. - Archaic policies that are set in stone. It took 120+ years to allow a casual dress code. - Subpar work/life balance depending on your department.
