I have been working at AutoZone part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

20% discount (excludes a few things like oil, antifreeze, and 134a.)
Best retail pay in town for starting position
Auto parts experience
Learning about cars and how they work

Cons

Pissed off customers
HEAVY BASES SALES, LISTEN TO ME, EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS COMPANY IS BASED ON SALES IF YOU DO NOT MAKE SALES, YOU DO NOT GET HOURS.

There is a program called whittjur which forces us to (attempt) sell them extra related items that of which they are buying.

Example if you buy brake pads, we must attempt to sell you items like brake grease, shop towels, hand cleaner, brake cleaner, etc

Advice to Management

If you don't smoke, good luck taking a break besides when its very slow

I have been working at AutoZone part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

20% store discount will be good, and its an easy job and I can help people with advice on how to fix their car.

    Cons

9 Bucks an hour is pretty crappy, and i'll be part time, hopefully this will be my part time 2nd job and not my only source!

    I worked at AutoZone full-time

    Pros

Great company with good benefits. I can't speak for the retail side, but at the DC I worked at the management team was firm but fair. A lot is expected from managers (Advisors and up) but you are given ample opportunity to finish the training before they "throw you to the wolves".

    Cons

It takes a bit to get use to the culture.
