I have been working at Autotrader full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Well compensated, more to sell as company has grown through acquisition

Cons

Was a sales through service model, now sell, sell, sell and see what sticks. More micromanagement in last year

Advice to Management

Work on getting the car shoppers more engaged by upgrading the website, an engaged shopper = happy dealer clients follow company values, not just lip service.

    I have been working at Autotrader (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Benefits are good. Vacation is awesome when you have been here a while. They offer things other companies do not. They also give you lots of free food. Training classes offered. and a nice building to work in.

    Cons

    My department has turned into Micromanaging nightmare. Work life balance is gone since they have taken away things, like telecommuting. No room for any kids of real life situations. Clock in late by one minute and you are tardy. Does not matter what the reason is. Basically it is like being in school again.

    Advice to Management

    Good employees are running....

    People are dedicated to making the customers grow their business

    Cons

    Too many managers to effectively get things done. As it matured there are more and more hurdles of red tape with lack of innovation

    Advice to Management

    Remember where you came from ... turn on a dime not like the huge ocean liner that takes weeks to get approvals
