Great Company to Work For
Feb 1, 2023 - Concierge in Washington, DCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have been working part time for AVB for 7 years. I have nothing but great things to say about them. From the CEO on down to the managers on site. Whenever I had a problem, they jumped on it and corrected it right away. They treat you fairly. Be a good employee and they will be good to you.
Cons
The only thing I can think of is that they do not have properties in the South or Midwest. They tend to be in very high COL states but that's okay. That is their business model.

Awesome Place for Self Starters

A lot of motivation to develop and propose new solutions and work with other teams to add value with modern IT concepts.
Cons
Compensation is typically lower than industry peers, and in some instances is the same as a lesser position at another company.

Getting Worse by the Week
Mar 30, 2023 - Sales and Service SupervisorRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Pros are the people closest to me on-site, as we genuinely care for each other as we suffer through the consequences of poor change in the company together.
Cons
AvalonBay is not what it was just a few years ago. Constantly looking to cut back on employees and allow the on-site teams to suffer. The company no longer aligns with core values that were once truthful. A business is a business, but AvalonBay has done nothing but focus on investors and cutting costs while their crucial employees are drowning. Employees feel worthless. Top talent giving notice week by week and it couldn't be more of a sign that the company has become just terrible to work for. With the amount of work and extra time and energy that the on-site teams are having to deal with due to these changes, some genuine appreciation should be shown. AvalonBay tends to lean on throwing a free lunch at their associates to keep them quiet.
