I have been working at Avaya full-time

Pros

- Work at home benefits.
- Flexible schedule.
- Good salary.
- Extensive online self-paced training.

Cons

- Endless layoffs and outsourcing resulting in job instability, rumor mills, understaffed teams and client d-sat.
- Poor values. Employees considered "expensive" are laid off regardless of years of experience or contribution to their teams.
- Management has ZERO aptitude for people management and for helping their employees develop.
- "Training" limited to on-line courses. Little management support for career development initiatives.
- Employees who do not perform well are never coached to improve, instead they are fired at the next opportunity.

Advice to Management

- Provide REAL training to your employees where products and solutions are explained in-depth.
- Learn how to coach your employees to improve their performance.
- Challenge your employees to do more but give them the tools to succeed.
- Ask your team for their opinion on middle management decisions, do not "guess" at what you think is best for the team.

I have been working at Avaya full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good work culture.
Easy to get a job if you are related somehow to the management.

    Cons

Never disclosed the original profile for which recruitment is done.
Management and leadership don't know how to drive the organisation(It sucks).
Zero Growth opportunity in and outside Avaya.
    No Onsite Opportunity.
Zero Job security even if you are master of your domain.
Never expect any salary increment even after 1.5 years.(ofcourse no bonus too)
Office time not fixed, it can be changed any time without individual consent.
Above all JOB PROFILE IS POOR.

    Advice to Management

Grow Up, give some freedom to your employees.
Start paying extra / or provide a good profile in which individual is interested to your employees if you expect them to take initiatives for the organisation apart from the cases

Management should come from a top - tier b school rather than simply counting on their experience.
