"Summer Internship"

I worked at Avaya as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Interesting work, got to work with interesting things that I would not have experienced from school. Manager was friendly and willing to help.

Cons

Total work for over the summer could have been completed in under a month. Very little ramp up to what I was doing; thrown into the shark pool.

Advice to Management

Keep your interns busy, otherwise you are just wasting your time.

    Pros

Good group of people, interesting technology, flexible work arrangements. Possible bright future if the company survives the current economic turmoil.

    Cons

Constant layoffs, inconsistent message from leadership. uncertain future. Lack of investment in the core components of the company.

    Advice to Management

Make the tough decisions to get he company to it's fighting weight and start moving forward. Set a clear direction and accelerate change, we can't survive if we continue to act like a company that is larger than we really are.
